Solar Photovoltaic (PV) for Apartment Owners

Tired of paying rising electric bills for the common area of your apartment property? Or is your aging building not sub-metered, leaving you with an astronomical, ever-increasing annual expense?

Let Green Planet Solar help you reduce your operating costs, boost your bottom line, and reduce your impact on the environment with a solar solution to fit your needs.

Both Southern California Edison (SCE) and LADWP now offer substantial solar rebates for multi-family property owners through the California Solar Initiative (CSI). Couple this with the 30% Federal Grant, as well as an Accelerated Depreciation Incentive, and there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel!

Enjoy the many benefits of a Solar PV system:

  • Significantly reduce or eliminate the electric bill of your multi-family property
  • Your solar PV system will be cash flow positive from day one
  • Protect yourself against rising energy rates
  • Significantly increase the value of your property without being inconvenienced by additional property taxes
  • Generous state and federal incentives are available in many areas, including the California Solar Initiative (CSI) State Rebate, a 30% Federal Tax Credit (or Grant*) and a 5-Year Accelerated Depreciation incentive**. For more information click here: (Federal & State Solar Rebates/Tax Credits)
  • Net Metering: when your PV system generates more power than you need, the surplus goes to the utility grid and your meter runs backward. You can use an equivalent amount of electricity later without additional cost to you.
  • The system is designed to last 25 years with little maintenance
  • Save money while protecting the environment by reducing the carbon footprint of your property
* Construction must begin in 2011 for the 30% Federal Grant to apply
** Up to 100% in Year 1 if construction begins by December 31, 2011

Affordable Housing

Special rebates are also available for low-income residential housing in SCE territory through the CSI Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing (MASH) Program. To qualify for MASH incentives, a property must meet the definition of "low-income residential housing" per Public Utilities Code 2852 and have occupancy permit for at least two years prior to applying for incentives.
